Koen Stork
Koen Stork (2002) is net als veel andere reisleiders al van zeer jongs af aan geïnteresseerd in het kijken naar vogels. Vooral geïnspireerd door zijn vader, die op zijn beurt ook weer sinds zijn jeugd vogelt. Opgroeiend op Texel was er altijd genoeg te zien, maar het vogelvuur ging pas echt branden tijdens een vakantie naar Lesbos. Vanaf 12 á 13 jaar ging Koen mee naar de kampen van de NJN, waar een inmiddels vrij forse generatie vogelaars is ontstaan die elkaar telkens weer naar een hoger niveau weten te tillen. Na een tussenjaar waarin vogels geringd werden in Roemenië en op 3 bekende Scandinavische ‘bird observatories’ (Ottenby, Lista en Skagen), werd een studie Biologie gevolgd in Groningen. Onder die paraplu heeft hij wederom veel geleerd over vogels, met oa een maandenlang verblijf in Costa Rica als een van de hoogtepunten.
Naast de studie is hij ook veel bezig met vogels, bijvoorbeeld als excursieleider, vogeladmin op Waarneming.nl en lid van de Commissie Dwaalgasten Nederlandse Avifauna (CDNA). Koen vindt het heerlijk om stil te staan bij alle mooie natuur die er nog op deze wereld te vinden is, en nog mooier om dat genoegen te delen en mensen er wat over bij te brengen!
